A March 2026 arrival inside the HALL Arts Hotel — now part of Marriott's Autograph Collection — ASTRA Kitchen + Lounge took over the space formerly occupied by Ellie's at 1717 Leonard Street, in the heart of the Dallas Arts District. The room is organized around Spencer Finch's 2019 installation Asteroid, 360 LED fixtures arranged to echo an asteroid's molecular structure, and the restaurant draws its name and celestial theme from the piece. Executive Chef Miguel Antonio, a Le Cordon Bleu graduate who came up through Fearing's, Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck and JW Steakhouse, runs globally inflected American cooking — pressed sushi, prime rib, seasonal pasta — alongside a cocktail program led by the purple, blackberry-and-tequila namesake.
