Dominique Crenn — the chef behind two-Michelin-starred Atelier Crenn, who came up under Jeremiah Tower at the storied Stars — opened this Cow Hollow companion bar in March 2018, in the space adjoining Atelier with which it shares a courtyard. The room reads as a vintage French wine bar by way of Northern California, its tight, biodynamic-leaning list spanning roughly 150 selections across Burgundy, Bordeaux, the Rhône and beyond. Two experiences run in parallel: a walk-in lounge of à la carte bites and cocktails from mixology director Florian Thireau, and Le Comptoir, a Michelin-recommended pescatarian counter where a handful of guests take a French-Californian tasting plated before them. For drinks held to the standard of the kitchen next door.
