A 2026 reopening atop Hotel Hugo on the 19th floor, Bar Hugo is a glass-enclosed rooftop duplex above the western edge of SoHo, where Hudson Square meets the river. The redesign — reportedly more than a decade in the making — borrows from the grand hotel bars of Venice: hand-laid mosaic floors, weathered white-oak paneling, a sprawling art collection, and a constellation of blown-glass pendants. The room is split between a curved cocktail bar backed by a towering wall of spirits and a banquette lounge facing the Hudson, framing One World Trade and the Statue of Liberty. The drinks shift from daytime spritzes to moodier mezcal and tequila pours, alongside small plates built for sharing. Come for sunset over the river, less spectacle than atmosphere.
