Chef Timothy Yu — son of Alan and Janet Yu, the family behind Hollywood East Café, the Wheaton dim sum landmark that ran for nearly three decades before closing in 2025 — carries that legacy forward in Navy Yard, in partnership with sommelier Brent Kroll of Maxwell Park and Brian Schram of Side Door Pizza. The concept nods to 1970s Hong Kong nightlife: an all-day café that flips after dark into a shareable-plate Cantonese parlor. Yu finishes char siu on a binchotan grill with a maltose glaze and serves a Canton duck set with bao, confit leg, and duck lo mein, alongside chili wontons and beef chow fun on hand-rolled noodles. Kroll's wine list runs aromatic and offbeat. For modern Cantonese cooking served with a party at its center.
