Brendan Sodikoff's first Chicago restaurant, opened in 2010, and the seed of what became the Hogsalt Hospitality empire behind Au Cheval, Bavette's and Doughnut Vault. The Kinzie Street room near the Merchandise Mart runs dim and clubby, with studded leather banquettes and low, nostalgic light; the cooking favors big, satisfying plates — fried chicken with mashed potatoes, beef cheek pot pie with bone marrow gravy, house-made pastas. A 2025 Michelin Bib Gourmand, it pairs that kitchen with a serious cocktail program and a cash-only basement lounge, Curio, that hides beneath the dining room. For a gastropub of genuine pedigree where the bar and the kitchen carry equal weight.
