Rainey Street's first dedicated sushi bar, opened in March 2026 from Austin restaurateurs Nick Ford and Wade McElroy, the team behind the North Loop Italian room Rocco's. The kitchen is led by chef Victor Gonzales, whose pedigree runs through two of the city's sushi standard-bearers, Uchiko and Lucky Robot. The format is an 18-seat counter, à la carte or omakase, where much is made in house: tofu, sauces, pickles, plus kushi-yaki skewers from the grill. Expect carefully finished nigiri of bluefin, hamachi, and kanpachi, dressed with touches like koji chimichurri or beer glaze, and a roasted-tea old fashioned built on hojicha and Japanese whisky. A moody corner room beneath SkyHouse Austin. Come for a chef-guided counter that trusts the fish.
