Maison Close opened on Watts Street in SoHo in July 2022, the first solo project of executive chef Geoffrey Lechantoux, whose résumé runs through Alain Ducasse's three-Michelin-star Le Louis XV in Monaco, Le Jules Verne at the Eiffel Tower, the Plaza Athénée in Paris, and Ducasse's Benoit in New York. The room, by DMDesign, reaches for the Belle Époque and nods to the Moulin Rouge: royal blue and burnt orange, velvet tulip-shaped banquettes, heavy drapes and exposed bulbs. The kitchen works traditional French à la carte, several dishes finished tableside — Belle Sole Meunière, Côte de Boeuf, Crêpe Suzette, and a tiered seafood tower built for sharing. By later weekend hours the dining room turns toward cabaret and burlesque. Come for the tableside classics and a room that keeps the party going.
